Iwerne Minster Emergency Plan

Emergency Plan

An emergency/major incident is any event or circumstance which may happen with or without warning which causes or threatens death or injury, severe disruption to the community or damage to property or to the environment.

Nearly all emergencies will be dealt with routinely by an integrated multi-agency response including the Emergency Services, Dorset County Council, Utilities and Voluntary Agencies.  However, a situation could occur such as power cuts, storm damage, deep snow or a major incident which could delay the arrival of outside assistance when the community will need to help itself.

Iwerne Minster has drawn up an Emergency Plan to help deal with a major incident which may occur in the future.  A Coordinating Team is in place to act as the first point of contact in the event of an emergency until the Emergency Services and other professionals arrive at the scene.

Resiliency Guide

The aim of the Iwerne Minster Resiliency Guide is to identify what we as a village and as individuals, can do to prepare for and mitigate events, which may cause hardship, danger or generally interfere with our lives.

Also to provide an overview of the services whose disruption might impact on the village, such as electricity supply or telecommunications.
